Table Games Coming to Pennsylvania's Slots Parlors

As I am sure you are aware, the Pennsylvania General Assembly recently passed and Governor Ed Rendell is expected to sign it into law a bill, Senate Bill 711, allowing Pennsylvania’s slot parlors to provide tables games such as blackjack, poker, roulette and craps. I voted for the legislation providing Pennsylvania’s slots parlors with table games because of the reasons mentioned here.

Logan Introduces Bill to Curb Teen Dating Violence
Harrisburg, October 14, 2009 - - State Sen. Sean Logan (D-Allegheny/Westmoreland) today introduced legislation that would require school districts to establish a policy on dating violence similar to ones used to discourage bullying.
“Teen dating violence is occurring in high schools all across the country and both males and females can be victims,” Logan said. “It is essential that students are educated on healthy relationships, warning signs and resources prior to getting involved in an abusive relationship.”

LOGAN ANNOUNCES SENATE DEPARTURE
MONROEVILLE, July 29, 2010 – After 10 years of serving the people of the 45th District, state Senator Sean Logan (D-Allegheny/Westmoreland) plans to depart the Pennsylvania Senate and assume the role as Vice President of Community Relations for the University of Pittsburgh
Medical Center (UPMC).
Effective August 24, Logan will vacate his Senate seat in hopes of expanding on his lengthy record of advocating for programs to help Pennsylvania families.
“The decision to move on from the Senate was not an easy one,” Logan said. "I was honored to serve the people of the 45th District for the past ten years and would like to thank them for giving me that opportunity and putting their trust in me. We worked tirelessly on a number of issues and together saw a number of successes over the past decade."

Senator Logan attended the ceremonial bill signing with Governor Rendell of Senate Bill 369. Senate Bill 369, introduced by Senator Logan, provides the families of police officers and emergency service personnel who die in the line of duty benefits equal to the fallen hero's monthly salary. "I am pleased this bill is law because it gives our brave men and women comfort that their families will be safe if they perish while performing their official duties," said Logan.
